Quinyx presents next-gen workforce solutions and unveils latest research on retail staff’s peak season strain
AI-powered workforce management platform, Quinyx, returns to the Retail Technology Show in 2026, with fresh insights into the sector’s peak season pain points, and smart tools to transform the country’s retail operators.
Delegates at the ExCel London are invited to learn findings from the Retail Peak Season Reality Report 2026, based on experiences of 1,000 retail employees, and delve into a special Guardian Future of Retail and Ecommerce report, which features Quinyx and will be officially launched at the show.
Quinyx Chief Product Officer, Laurence Painell and VP of Sales, Ned Gammell, will be on hand to share the latest intelligence in retail workforce scheduling, demand forecasting and employee engagement.
The show marks the launch of Quinyx’s latest figures, emphasising the urgent risk for retailers without a workforce strategy built for 2026. Findings of the Retail Peak Season Reality Report 2026 include:
- Over half of retail workers say understaffing causes them stress in peak season
- Nearly two thirds (63%) have their personal plans disrupted by shift changes
- Over a third (37%) consider leaving their role during peak season.
Powered by AI and designed for frontline workers, Quinyx combats the most pressing challenges of UK retailers by boosting flexibility, preparedness and offering a robust model for employee communication.
“Customer demand is increasingly unpredictable, labour costs are rising and shopfloor employees feel forgotten,” says Ned Gammell. “We’re giving retail operators the tools to be active rather than passive in their workforce management.
“At the Retail Tech Show 2026 we’ll be welcoming thousands of retail professionals to our stand and continuing in our commitment to support them with smart, flexible and efficient workforce management that puts them on the front foot.” Delegates are invited to wind down with a drink at Quinyx’s ever-popular gin bar, returning once again on stand K28.
Technology solutions from Quinyx are currently being deployed in many of the UK’s most prominent retailers, including HMV, Mango and Sweaty Betty. This year, HMV expanded its successful partnership with Quinyx by introducing the Employee Hub functionality, a powerful add-on designed to transform how store colleagues and head office communicate. Engagement has been exceptional, achieving over 99% task completion rate across stores.
“It’s transformed how we communicate,” says Michael Palmer, HMV Regional Manager for 25 stores. “It’s streamlined everything and saved so much time”.
