Recyclever Leads the Way as the UK’s Only RVM Manufacturer Ahead of DRS Rollout
At the centre of this shift is Recyclever, currently the only manufacturer producing reverse vending machines (RVMs) in the UK. Designed and built in Stoke-on-Trent, Recyclever’s machines are tailored specifically for the operational realities of UK retail environments—from supermarkets and convenience stores to forecourts and travel hubs.
As DRS approaches, retailers that sell drinks will be required to provide a return point for eligible containers, creating both a compliance challenge and an opportunity to enhance in-store experience. Recyclever is positioning its technology as a practical, scalable solution—offering machines that integrate with external deposit systems while maintaining a focus on reliability, ease of use, and retail-friendly design.
Chris Wood, Director at Recyclever, said: “Our focus has always been on building machines that work in the real world of retail. With DRS coming, it’s about giving retailers a solution that’s ready, flexible, and built locally with full support behind it.”
The company is showcasing its latest machines at the Retail Tech Show, where it aims to engage directly with retailers navigating DRS planning. With UK manufacturing capability, growing integration readiness, and a clear focus on supporting drinks retailers, Recyclever is positioning itself as a key player in the transition to a more circular economy.
As the countdown to October 2027 continues, the conversation is shifting from “if” to “how”—and for many retailers, the question is no longer whether to install RVMs, but which solution best fits their store.
